What I'm reading now? (09/17/10)
Right now, I'm reading A Preacher's Passion by Lutisha Lovely. It was referred to me by my grandmother.
(09/24/10)
I'm still reading the same book and it is really good. I like the fact that I'm so interested in reading it everywhere I go. I have noticed a lot of progress in reading for pleasure and I'm proud of myself that I am fulfilling my proposal. This book relates to real life by opening my eyes and letting me know that this is a small world. When you think about it everybody knows everybody in various connections.

I started this book about 2 weeks ago and I'm almost done. Even though I have a lot of time management issues, I see a lot of improvement. The book still has the same concept and now I'm focusing on why the author chose certain words to use. I would like to receive some information and pointers about what you guys are doing, so that I could use some of your methods. So write me back with some different techniques.

I'm officially done with the book. I defined all I words I didn't understand and found some useful information. I noticed that some of the words used in the book were given to my by teacher and some of the words are actually mentioned in my SAT prep. book. I think that connection is good, because I can study and learn new words while I read a well written book. When I finished the book I continued to read the excerpts that followed from the authors previous books and I found out that this book is mostly used in group readings. This made me think about starting my own reading group with some friends outside of school when I start my next reading. It also had some questions as well to help the reader become more involved in the book. Although I answered all of the open ended questions, it made me want to ask some questions of my own such as: Did Janee do the right thing by not telling Princess's mother about her abortion? Does she have a right to know the truth about her daughter, even if it went against their religion, and considering Passion's part in Carla's divorce should she had dated and ultimately married Stanly? I've never been so interacted with a book outside of school to an extent that it relates to life itself, viewing that the world is a small place. When you think about it everybody knows everybody in various connections. This book kept me interested from cover to cover and i plan on reading her next book as well, titled "Heaven Right Here". I've noticed a lot of improvement since I first started reading this book and I plan to continue this path and expand my reading and vocabulary as well. I would refer this book to anybody who is interested in reading for pleasure and I'm glad my grandmother referred it to me. If there are any good books that you read, please email the title to me.
